EVENT BRIEFING & INFO
WELCOME
Thank you for your registration for this first event on Rotoroa Island. We are excited by the challenge and opportunity this event offers for swimmers and our organisation. Rotoroa Island is a rare gem for ocean swimmers and supporters. It ticks all the boxes for excellent ocean swims close to shore and to the nearby islands - Waiheke, Pakatoa, Chamberlains and Shag Island. The biggest plus - it is only 1-hour from downtown Auckland. We look forward to seeing you there soon.
This 1-Day event takes place on the same weekend as the five-day Swim tour on 12-16 March. This briefing document will be updated on a regular basis as new information comes to hand. When there are updates we will put them here and on the event Facebook page. We will also send you a final email briefing two days from event day.

Our preference is to offer the two swims at different times so swimmers can have the option of swimming both (no extra cost) if they wish. Conditions on the day will play a big part on whether that is possible or not. The decision on the order of swims will be made closer to the day - if not on the day of the event.
TIDE
Low tide (10:34 am, Auckland).
A favourable tide for the swims to run separately. We need to wait and see which
way the wind blows on the day.
SWIM RESULTS
The swims will be timed and results published.

Photos - Rotoroa Island Swim tour 2021

Not for Profit Swims are for the benefit of the wider Swimming community to access well organised and recognised swim events on a regular basis. As an organisation, we want to cover our costs where we can and offer our volunteers petrol and coffee dollars for their time. Recommended donation is set for each swim based on the expected number of participants and the help needed to safely run the swim. Full event costs , revenue and expenses can be accessed on request.
