This swim continues the ministry of Tracey McKinstry & team who started the Goat Island Swim with NZ Swim Safaris. We are keeping the swim on the Sunday of Labour Weekend to continue the tradition. Samoa Swim and Leigh Ocean Swimmers are proud to be co-working partners in The Goat island swim. The swim is a timed race in the first lap. The second lap is a safari experience around Goat Island.

Swim around Goat Island
1* Race lap 2km (timed), 9:30 am
1* Safari lap 2km, 10:40 am
Marker - A single marker will be placed
in front of the beach.

9:30 a.m. on the beach at Goat Island - One wave
10:40 a.m. Safari lap - after the Timed race.
(Must exit the water to complete the race
and before starting the Safari)
ENTRY
ENTRY CRITERIA
Fit and able to swim unaided in open water
If you are unwell or sick, do not swim
Have no pre-existing health issues that will be a risk
to you in open water swimming in the open sea
Follow swim instructions.
Tow float is highly recommended for visibility and safety aid.
Flippers are allowed in the safari swim.

9.30 a.m. Goat swim race (one wave)
10:40 a.m. - Sharp - Swim Safari lap
