It’s time for something different. A swim, followed by dinner with light entertainment and a talk from a young legend of the sport. An evening with a difference for swimmers and their friends. We have booked Someplace Else restaurant in Orewa for an evening of Swim fellowship, Swim talk and Entertainment.
THE SWIM
Swim 3km/2km
Starts 3:30 pm
We have two distances, 3km and 2km (shorter if needed). The long swim starts at Hatfields beach and the short swims start at Arundel Reserve. All swims finish at the changing rooms at the Surf Club a short stroll to the restaurant.

Keynote Speaker
Claire Hobson - Lake Taupo (40.2km), Waiheke Swim (20km)
A COVID19 change with Claire now replacing Caitlin. We look forward to hearing from Caitlin at another event soon. Claire will speak about her amazing experience of swimming Lake Taupo last month and the challenges that she encountered right at the start of her swim. Claire will also share about guiding Special Olympians Tate Pichon and Joshua Vegar in their swim crossing of Taupo (30km).
Special Guest - Tracy Clark
We learnt late this week Tracy is in the country and will be attending the dinner. This is a major bonus for SwimDine to hear from Tracy. Tracy’s list of ultra swims is extensive and impressive. But her best swim is the one she is yet to conquer. This northern summer, Tracy is taking on the Northern Channel, Ireland to Scotland in a third attempt to conquer it. Tracy will share the lessons she has learnt from this amazing challenge.
