About
THE 2022 tour is a Cold Swim Tour of the Southern Lakes. The aim of the Tour is to offer swimmers a new experience. The 2021 tour was cancelled due to COVID19 lockdown, now rescheduled to September 2022. All bookings have been moved to the new date. Newcomers are welcome to join the new tour. 

This is a Wetsuit Cold Swim Tour.

The swims are conducted in a controlled and safe environment under the supervision of the Tour paramedic.

How long are the swims? 
To each swimmer's comfort level. Maximum duration is 30 minutes. 

Swimmers must prove a period of preparation to swim in cold temperatures. If you register for the Tour you will need to provide a plan of cold water swimming leading up to the Tour. 

Accommodation
Copthorne Hotel & Apartments

Double Rooms - two double beds

Swims
Lake Wakatipu, Moke Lake, Lake Johnson, Wanaka, Milford Sound or Te Anau and various other lakes around the Queenstown area.
Duration, 10-30 mins maximum
Wetsuit only & Accessories (gloves, booties) 
Close to shore 
Water Temperature, Av. 6-8 degrees Celsius 
There will be an opportunity for a very short non-wetsuit dip/swim at the end of the tour.

How many spots? 
20 is the maximum number of swimming spots.

Friday 2 Sept, Arrive 
Saturday 3 Sept, Cold Swim at a lake nearby 
Sunday 4, Milford Sound excursion with Air Milford
Monday 5, Swim at Moke Lake (Queenstown)
Tuesday 6, Wanaka Swim 
Wednesday 7, Lake Johnson swim & Private hot tub 
Thursday 8, Depart 
We will be flexible with the schedule to fit with weather changes. 

Milford Sound 1 Day Excursion

This is planned for Sunday for those taking part. May change to the next available weather window in the event of bad weather.

Air travel is subject to Airline Refund policy.
In the event of COVID Alert Level change, the tour will be moved to the next available dates.

Paramedic - we will have a qualified Paramedic on the Tour, the ratio is 1 PM to 10 swimmers.

We travel with Air Milford to Milford Sound 
Travel to Queenstown 
Arrive in Queenstown Friday afternoon. 

Training 
Those taking part in the swims need to train for Cold swimming through the winter. Recommend non-wetsuit swimming in the sea for Auckland swimmers. Please consult with your Doctor on your health and the effect of cold water swimming. If you have pre-existing medical conditions such as a heart issue, the swimming part of the tour is not for you.

At Milford Sound we will take a Boat Cruise with lunch provided,
and have a Cold swim before returning to Queenstown.
